Ms. Meyer

My name is Shawna Meyer and I am so very excited to have your child in my class this year! We are going to be working hard from August until May to learn not only new math & science skills, but new life skills!

I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree and a Masters Degree in Instructional Coaching. My teaching certificates include: Elementary Education, Intermediate Mathematics, and Mid-Level Math for High School.

Some of the activities that I love taking part in here at Washington Elementary are: Quiz Bowl Coach, Student Council Advisor, Sunshine Commitee, Guiding Coalition, Math Night, Family Engineering Night, After School Tutoring, and Summer School Teaching!

Feel free to contact me to discuss your child’s progress!

Looking For Ways To Engage Your Children & Strengthen Math Comprehension At Home?

“At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvment of parents.” – Jane D. Hull

Prodigy – An interactive web game that allows students to create their own wizard and collect magical creatures by solving math problems.

Multiplication Fast Facts – Students can try to beat their personal high score while answering multiplication questions (0-12 Facts).

Khan Acadamy – Does your child benefit from learning how to solve problems in different ways? Would you like to explore higher level math problems? Khan Acadamy provides students and parents with descriptive videos that teach specific math skills in a step by step process.

Helping your child to make their own flashcards/board games/game questions is a great way to strengthen your child's math comprehension while also boosting their confidence, encouraging their creativity, and making fun memories!
